Juniperus communis subsp. hemisphaerica is a rare, prostrate juniper subspecies, limited to the Lizard Peninsula.

 Cornish juniper / Juniperus communis subsp. hemisphaerica: _Juniperus communis_ subsp. _hemisphaerica_ is a rare, prostrate juniper subspecies, limited to the Lizard Peninsula.

The leaves of Juniperus communis subsp. hemisphaerica are longer than in subsp. nana, and have a pure white stomatal band, whereas in subsp. communis it is greyish.
