The brambles of Rubus ser. Radulae have leaves with ovate or elliptic, saw-toothed leaflets, usually hairy or felted below.

In Rubus ser. Radulae, the stems have a dense covering of fine spines and gland-tipped hairs, as well as the large prickles on the stem ridges.
