Asplenium viride is a mountain-dweller than differs from the more widespread Asplenium trichomanes by the green rather than blackish rachis to each leaf.

The leaflets of Asplenium viride are more deeply crenate than those of Asplenium trichomanes, and the placement of the sori is slightly different.
