Asplenium obovatum is similar to Asplenium adiantum-nigrum, but with more parallel-sided leaves and pinnae, the lowest pinnae being (slightly) shorter than those near the mid-point of the leaf.

 lanceolate spleenwort / Asplenium obovatum: _Asplenium obovatum_ is similar to _Asplenium adiantum-nigrum_, but with more parallel-sided leaves and pinnae, the lowest pinnae being (slightly) shorter than those near the mid-point of the leaf.

The sporangia of Asplenium obovatum are nearer the leaf edge than those of Asplenium adiantum-nigrum.
