Ervum gracile is a rare annual that grows in summer-dry grasslands in central and southern England; it is similar to Ervum tetraspermum, but with its peduncles mostly longer than the adjacent leaves.

The most obvious difference between Ervum gracile and E. tetraspermum is the number of seeds in each pod; E. tetraspermum almost always has 4, while E. gracile often has more.
