Allium roseum is a non-native plant that is spreading – especially var. bulbiferum, in which some flowers are replaced by bulbils.

The spathe of Allium roseum is shorter than the pedicels, and its filaments do not project into 3 points, as in some other related species, but the pink colouring is the most recognisable feature.
