The leaves of Oenanthe crocata are up to 3 times pinnate; the ultimate segments are quite broad, at less than twice as long as wide.

The oblong fruits of Oenanthe crocata are very nearly sessile, forming an open head, in contrast to the smoother and more solid fruit-heads of Oenanthe fistulosa formed from tesselating conical fruits.
