Valeriana pyrenaica has simple, cordate, dentate basal leaves; it is native to Pyrenees and other mountains of northern Spain, but is naturalised in damp ground, especially in Scotland.

 Pyrenean valerian / Valeriana pyrenaica: _Valeriana pyrenaica_ has simple, cordate, dentate basal leaves; it is native to Pyrenees and other mountains of northern Spain, but is naturalised in damp ground, especially in Scotland.

As with other Valeriana species, V. pyrenaica has seeds adapted to wind-dispersal.
