Chrysosplenium alternifolium is the rarer of our two golden-saxifrages, and is absent from Ireland, Cornwall, West Wales and the North-west Highlands.

Chrysosplenium alternifolium has larger leaves than Chrysosplenium oppositifolium, and they are cordate (at least the lower leaves) and opposite, not cuneate and alternate.
