Pictorial guide to the flora of the British Isles
Comprising:
- Hieracium umbellatum L. – umbellate hawkweed
Hieracium umbellatum, our only species in the section, grows in sandy and rocky places, especially in southern Great Britain; its many stem-leaves are sessile but not clasping, with down-curving margins.

The inflorescences of Hieracium umbellatum are rather flat-topped, branching from points close together on the stem; at least the outer phyllaries around each flowering head are distincly recurved in bud.
