Galeopsis speciosa is an introduced species that is now widespread in Scotland, Northern Ireland, North Wales and northern and central England, especially in potato fields.
The pale flowers with a purple lower lip can lead to confusion with Melittis melissophyllum, but the sepals of Galeopsis speciosa end in a long, narrow point.

The corolla-tube of Galeopsis speciosa is twice as long as the whole calyx.
