Pictorial guide to the flora of the British Isles
Helleborus foetidus grows in calcareous woodlands across much of the British Isles, but is only thought to be native to a narrow band from Kent to Gloucestershire, and on to the Great Orme (VC49: Caernarvonshire).

The flowers of Helleborus foetidus are yellowish-green, often tinged purple; its leaves are palmate with narrow leaflets.
